Abby Jump

Abby Jump, a Union, Ky., native, will enter her second year as an assistant coach for the Morehead State women's basketball program.

In her first season at Morehead State, Jump helped guide the Eagles to a 21-10 (11-5 Ohio Valley Conference) record under head coach Greg Todd. The Eagles reached the 20-win plateau for the seventh time in school history, resulting in the program's first ever appearance in the Women's National Invitation Tournament. 2016-17 also featured a nine-game winning streak – the second-longest in school history – and the team's first invitation to a national postseason tournament since 2009-10.

Jump came to Morehead State after spending 2015-16 as the director of women's basketball operations at Bucknell University, where she was responsible for creating weekly schedules, sending out recruiting mailers, arranging team travel, and coordinating the team's community service efforts.

Prior to her year with the Bison, Jump played four years at Wright State under former Morehead State women's basketball head coach Mike Bradbury. During her stint at WSU, the Raiders accumulated an 84-49 record and advanced to the NCAA Tournament her junior season.

As a junior and senior, she ranked first in the Horizon League in three-point percentage. She shot 46 percent from three-point land and tied for 12th in the league in three-pointers made with 25 her senior year.

Jump graduated from Wright State with a bachelor's degree in organizational leadership in 2014. She played high school basketball at Ryle, and at the time of graduation, ranked fifth all-time in Kentucky with 81 three-pointers made.
