MOREHEAD, Ky. – The Morehead State rifle team is currently in third place after day one of the OVC Championship. Today was the smallbore portion of the two day event. Murray State is leading the race with a smallbore team score of 2273 and Jacksonville State is in second place with a score of 2269. Morehead is just 12 points behind Jacksonville State with a score of 2257.
Kevin Mulligan and Elizabeth Lyon fired team best scores of 575 and 572 respectively. Mulligan is tied for fourth place individually and Lyon is in sixth place. Also competing for the Eagles was
Rob Gagliani who shot a 556 and Shawn Holley who scored 554.
The Eagles will be in action tomorrow competing in the air rifle event.
