Sophomore linebacker Dillion Blackburn registered a career-high 18 tackles in Saturday's 24-17 setback at nationally-ranked Eastern Kentucky. His total, which included 15 stops in the first half, was just one short of the Morehead State record.

A native of Monterey, Tenn., Blackburn has collected 26 tackles in the first two weeks of 2012, which matches his total from all of 2011.

The MSU football team is back in action on Saturday as it hosts St. Francis (Pa.) at Jayne Stadium.
