Sophomore Jesse Moreno of the men's track and field team has been named this week’s Male Pepsi Student-Athlete of the Week.

Moreno broke a 39-year-old school record in the Eagles’ track and field season opener at Butler. He won the 3,000-meter run with a time of 8:22.95, which broke Mike Becraft's previous school mark of 8:23.60 set in 1975.

It is his first honor of the season.
