Sophomore tennis player Briar Preston has been named this week’s Female Pepsi Student-Athlete of the Week.

Preston continued her winning streaks this weekend, pushing her singles streak to seven straight and her doubles success rate to five straight. She has now won 10 consecutive OVC singles matches dating back to last spring. In defeating opponents from Belmont and Tennessee State at the number one spot in the lineup, Preston only dropped one total game.

She also teamed with doubles partner Alex Tachovsky for a pair of 8-1 triumphs at the number one spot. Preston is now 6-0 in the OVC in singles and 12-4 overall at No. 1 this spring. Her doubles mark in the league is now 5-1. In 82 singles games in league play, Preston has won 72 and she has only lost three total games in the last four matches.

It is her second straight honor and her third of the season.
