Junior shortstop Robby Spencer of the baseball team has been named this week’s Male Pepsi Student-Athlete of the Week.

Spencer collected multiple hits in all five of MSU’s games last week and now as six straight multi-hit outings. He tied an OVC record with two triples in a 12-4 victory at Ohio Tuesday. Spencer hit .400 (6-15) in the SIUE series and added two more triples in Saturday’s doubleheader.

For the week, he compiled an .840 slugging percentage and a .440 batting average and on-base percentage.

It is his first honor of the season.
