Bev Smith was a four-year letterwinner and starter for Eagle women’s basketball team from 1989-93. She was named to the All-Ohio Valley Conference First-Team in 1992-93.
Smith earned second team all-conference in both 1990-91 and in 1991-92. She was also named to the All-OVC Freshman squad in 1989-90. At the time of her induction Smith ranked sixth on Morehead State’s all-time scoring list with 1,592 points and fifth on the all-time rebounding list with 879 rebounds. Smith is the 10th Eagle women’s basketball player to be inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame.
After her playing days at MSU, Smith went on to dedicate 35 years with children with disabilities by working for Hamilton County Board of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities (MR/DD). In 2007 she retired and currently resides in the greater Cincinnati area.
