Beverly Varney played football for Morehead State from 1935-38. He earned Honorable Mention All-American honors in 1938.
A native of Williamson, W.Va., Varney made a name for himself at MSU and can be found multiple times in the football record books. At the time of his induction he held seven Morehead State records: rushing yardage in a game (252), points in a game (30), and points in a season (90), touchdowns in a game (5), touchdowns in a season (15), rushing touchdowns in a game (5) and rushing touchdowns in a season (12).
