Debbie (Ames) Coppin played volleyball and basketball for Morehead State from 1974-77. Coppin was the first female inducted into the MSU Hall of Fame.
Coppin helped her volleyball teams go 112-24-2 and won two Kentucky Women’s Intercollegiate Conference titles in four years. As a senior, the Eagles placed third at the national regional for the Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women. On the basketball court, Coppin became the first women’s basketball player to score 1,000 career points with 1,030.
