Lawrence Carter played basketball and football for Morehead State. He lettered in basketball from 1935-38 and played one year of football. The 1936-37 team, coached by fellow MSU athletic Hall of Fame member Ellis Johnson, had a record of 14-3, a winning percentage of 82.4, which is the best in school history.
