Leston Stewart played baseball for Morehead State from 1961-64. He placed himself in elite company by being named First-Team All-Ohio Valley Conference all four years while playing for the Eagles.

A native of Morehead, Stewart played first base for MSU. He hit .390 as a freshman, .357 as a sophomore, .325 as a junior, and .440 as a senior. As a senior he led the OVC with nine home runs with 44 hits while batting in 49 runners.

Stewart signed a bonus contract with the Pittsburgh Pirates following his senior season. Upon completion of his professional playing career, he returned to coach the Eagle baseball team in 1968. He coached the Eagles for one year leading them to a 12-14 record.
