Marisa Kamelgarn came to Morehead State from Mahopac, N.Y., and made an immediate impact on Morehead State's Women's golf program both on and off the course. She was a named four times as a National Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar and was also named to the Ohio Valley Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll all four seasons she competed as an Eagle.

She was honored as a member of the OVC women's golf 75th anniversary team.

On the course as a freshman (2009-10), she made an immediate impact, leading the team in low round, scoring and top-20 finishes. Her 75.8 stroke average led the OVC, and she was named OVC Freshman of the Year, and named to the All-OVC First Team, picking up three Golfer of the Week awards.

Kamelgarn helped MSU to its first-ever OVC Tournament title and NCAA Tournament appearance as a sophomore in 2010-11, leading the team in scoring average and posting seven top-10 finishes.

In her junior campaign (2011-12), she again led the OVC in scoring average and was named "Miss Eagle" as Morehead State's top female student-athlete and was picked as the OVC Golfer of the Year. She tied for first at the OVC Championship and was named to the OVC All-Tournament Team. She was named OVC Golfer of the Week five times.

In her collegiate career, she was credited with six tournament victories. She is just the fifth player in Ohio Valley Conference history to earn All-OVC First Team honors four times.  Kamelgarn earned OVC Golfer of the Week awards a record 11 times.

Kamelgarn earned her bachelor's degree from Morehead State in biology and later earned her Doctorate Degree from University of Kentucky in toxicology and cancer biology. She currently serves as a senior scientist at QurAlis.  She currently resides in Medford, Mass., with her husband, Eugene Hinderer.
