Melissa Cochran was a four-year letterwinner in volleyball from 1986-89. She was a three-time all-Ohio Valley Conference selection and a three-time All-OVC tournament team selection, while also being named the OVC Tournament MVP in 1989. MSU won three OVC championships while she ran the offense as the team’s setter.

Along with her athletic accomplishments in 1989, she was named an Academic All-American, as well as an OVC Scholar-Athlete.

Cochran is now a registered nurse in Louisville’s Jewish Hospital Critical Care Open Heart Recovery Unit. Her father Bob was an OVC volleyball official for many years as well.
