Morehead State Cross Country Teams Take 33rd at Greater Louisville Classic

LOUISVILLE, Ky
. – The Morehead State men’s and women’s Cross Country teams both took 33rd place at the Greater Louisville Cross Country Classic Saturday. The men’s race saw 38 teams compete, while the women’s race held 35 teams.

Joshua Wakeman was the top finisher for the men’s team, coming in 78th place, completing the 8-kilometer course in 25:31. James Bowens finished in 171st and Matthew Dotson was 199th. Michael Settles crossed the line 253rd and Brian Knight rounded out the MSU scoring five by finishing in 272nd.

Jeffrey Covington (289th), Patrick Fouch (316th), and Jack Shrader (322nd) also competed for the Eagles.

The women’s team was led by Rudy Millard who finished the 6-kilometer race in 20:00 (183rd). Holly Mandzak was just six seconds off Millard’s pace in 195th, while Alexis King was just a few spots back in 208th. Natalie Norman (232nd) and Liz Braunwart (249th) were the final two scorers for MSU.

Kate Bomar (263rd) and Amanda Foust (291st) also competed for head coach Tommy Barksdale.

The Eagles next meet is the Blue Ridge Open on Oct. 16.
