MOREHEAD, Ky.—Morehead State’s Kenneth Faried is getting national publicity in anticipation for the center’s senior season.
Sports Illustrated named Faried the second-best defender in the country in their Top 16 Impact Defenders list published on SI.com.

Rivals.com has named Faried the best mid-major player in the country in its 25 key preseason questions.

Athlon Sports College Basketball Preview Magazine has picked Kenneth Faried as the 10th best post player in the country and named him a preseason honorable mention All-American. Faried was also a selection to the All-OVC preseason team as was Murray State's Isaiah Canaan and B.J. Jenkins and Eastern Illinois guard Tyler Laser.
Athlon was also picked Morehead State to finish second in the OVC race behind defending champion Murray State.
Earlier this season, ESPN.com’s Andy Katz placed Faried on a preseason Wooden Award Watch list.
The Eagles officially begin practice Friday and tip off the regular season at home on Nov. 12 versus Asbury University. A pair of exhibitions, on Nov. 4 and 9 will give MSU fans a preview of the 2010-11 Eagles.
MSU fans can get a first look at both Eagle basketball teams on Wednesday, Oct. 20 at Morehead Hysteria at 7:30 pm in Johnson Arena. There will be a dunk contest, a 3-point contest and the men's basketball team will scrimmage.
