MOREHEAD, Ky.—Morehead State took two of the three Pioneer Football League awards in the final week of the season, capturing the Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week. Adam Slupski won the offensive award and Tony Bachman earned the defensive award after MSU’s season-ending overtime win over Campbell.
Slupski rushed just twice, but his 3-yard run in the second overtime provided the winning margin in Morehead State’s 30-24 double-overtime PFL victory Saturday. He was very involved in the Eagle passing game, catching 10 passes for 80 yards to lead MSU. Three of those catches came on Morehead State’s first touchdown drive.
Bachman recorded 19 tackles, the most by a PFL defender this season, in the win over Campbell. He finished with a tackle for loss and half a sack along with four solo stops. Bachman also recovered a fumble on Campbell’s first drive of the second half, setting up MSU’s field goal.
Morehead State players earned seven PFL Player of the Week awards this season. Zach Lewis and Jerome Raymond each won the offensive and defensive awards once and Rainer Duzan won the special teams award three times.
The Eagles’ win over Campbell was MSU’s season finale and pushed their final record to 5-6 overall and 4-4 in the PFL.
