Morehead State Retires Bozeman, Faried Jerseys

MOREHEAD, Ky. – Morehead State University has officially retired the jerseys of outgoing basketball seniors Kenneth Faried and Chynna Bozeman. The retired jerseys were unveiled in a ceremony prior to the men’s basketball game versus Southeast Missouri Saturday at Johnson Arena.

The jersey retirement honor is reserved for those players who gained All-American status or were MSU’s all-time leading scorer in their respective sports. Faried was honored last season as an AP All-American honorable mention selection and Bozeman is on track to catch Donna Murphy, the current all-time women’s basketball scoring leader at Morehead State.

“Kenneth and Chynna came to Morehead in the summer of 2007 with similar goals, to make these basketball programs a tremendous source of pride for the institution,” said MSU Director of Athletics Brian Hutchinson. “We all wanted to change our basketball fortunes, and with that, shed a positive light on a great University. We needed them to help tell the story. Have they ever…”

The ceremony was part of senior day activities, which included individual honors for Bozeman prior to the women’s game and honors prior to the men’s game for Faried, Sam Goodman and Demonte Harper. It was the final regular season home game for all four players.
