MOREHEAD, Ky. – Morehead State rifle fell to Kentucky, 4635-4566, on Sunday at the University of Kentucky Rifle Range.
Morehead State recorded a 2270 smallbore mark, followed by a 2296 score in air rifle to total a 4,566. Kentucky, the top-ranked team in the College Rifle Coaches Association poll, tallied a 2298 smallbore score, along with a 2337 mark in air rifle, for a total of 4,635. The Eagles fell to 5-5-1 in dual matches on the season.
Junior
Rob Gagliani led MSU in smallbore with a 573 mark, while sophomore
Mary Saenger fired a 583 score to lead the Eagles in air rifle. Saenger combined for the highest total aggregate score for the Eagles with 1,153.
Morehead State next heads to Martin, Tenn., for the Ohio Valley Conference championships, hosted by UT Martin, on Feb. 4-5.
