MEN'S RESULTS | WOMEN'S RESULTS
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Morehead State men's cross country team turned in a top-five performance in the Vanderbilt Invitational on Saturday, while the women's team finished 11th out of 20 schools.
The men finished fifth out of 19 schools. The Eagles had three runners in the top 40. Senior Zachariah Elliot paced the Eagles, finishing fifth overall with a time of 25:19.71. Sophomore Jesse Moreno finished second for the men, crossing the line at 25:41.86. Senior Chase Ratliff followed suit, finishing the race in 25:55.87.
The men finished ahead of three regionally ranked teams.
MSU had nine competitors in the event.
Morehead State's women team had three freshmen and two sophomores finish as the team's top five.
Freshman Karina Manz was the Eagles' top finisher, covered the course in 18:42.63. Freshman Mackenzie Butler finished second at 18:44.41. The Eagles' third finish came from sophomore Lauren Tarovisky with a time of 19:11.29. The Eagles fielded eleven runners in the race.
Both teams return to action on Oct. 5th at the Greater Louisville Classic.
