Men's Hoops Shoots for Third Straight Win Against ETSU

MOREHEAD, Ky. -- The Morehead State men's basketball team will shoot for its third consecutive victory on Monday when Southern Conference opponent East Tennessee State visits Johnson Arena.  Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. ET.  MSU owns a 28-24 all-time advantage against ETSU and has won four straight in the series.

The Ohio Valley Conference Eagles improved to 4-4 overall and 2-0 at home on Saturday with a school-record 72-point win over NAIA opponent Kentucky Christian.  The Buccaneers improved to 3-1 overall and 1-1 on the road on Nov. 24 with a 69-64 victory at Winthrop.  ETSU has been idle for the past six days.

The game, which is presented by Gatti's Pizza, will include several in-game promotions.  Adult tickets begin at just $8, while tickets for children 12-and-under start at $3.  Parking is only $5 per vehicle.  Click here to purchase tickets on-line.

CAREER HIGHS GALORE
Morehead State rolled to a 121-49 win over Kentucky Christian on Saturday at Johnson Arena.  The Eagles established 30 career highs and led from start to finish.

A RECORD-SETTING DAY
The 72-point victory over Kentucky Christian was Morehead State's largest in program history.  The Eagles are in their 86th season with an intercollegiate team.

THE STREAKS CONTINUE
Morehead State moved to 7-0 all-time versus Kentucky Christian.  Saturday's win was also MSU's 46th straight against National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics foes.

AN ACCOMPLISHED GROUP
Senior Angelo Warner knocked down 9-of-10 from the field on Saturday to register 20 points in just 15 minutes.  Junior Lyonell Gaines (19), senior Karam Mashour (14), freshman Miguel Dicent (14), junior Jared Ravenscraft (9) and junior Marcus Fuggins (5) all tallied career highs in scoring for Morehead State.

OTHER IMPRESSIVE NUMBERS
Morehead State rolled to advantages of 49-20 in rebounds, 33-16 in assists and 26-7 in steals against Kentucky Christian.  The Eagles turned 36 turnovers in 67 points, while the Knights scored just 16 points off 17 miscues.  MSU also registered a 72-20 upper hand in paint points and 49-8 cushion in fast-break points.

DOUBLE-DOUBLE TIME
Junior Anthony Elechi posted his first Division I double-double on Saturday with 10 points and 12 rebounds.  He started the day with averages of 4.2 points and 3.2 boards.

CLIMBING THE SCORING LIST
Angelo Warner poured in a game-high 23 points in Wednesday's victory at Marshall.  The guard owns 66 performances of 10+ points and 15 efforts of 20-or-more.  He is up to 1,253 points as an Eagle, which ranks 18th in school history.

HANDING OUT THE ASSISTS
Senior Kareem Storey leads the Ohio Valley Conference with 6.0 assists per game.  The guard also places fourth in the league with a 2.5 assist-to-turnover ratio.  He has reached the five-assist plateau in 20 of 39 games at Morehead State.

A TALENTED FRESHMAN
Freshman Marquel Willis knocked down both three-point attempts en route to 11 points in Wednesday's win at Marshall.  It was his second performance of 10+ points this season.  The guard/forward is averaging 6.3 points per tilt.

HEALTHY AND PERFORMING
Karam Mashour is averaging 8.1 points and 5.3 rebounds.  The forward averaged 17.3 points and 19.8 boards in four exhibitions, including a three-game foreign trip to the Bahamas.  He sat out in 2012-13 as a transfer and only played five minutes in 2013-14 due to injury.
