MURRAY, Ky. -- The Morehead State rifle team concluded the two-day Ohio Valley Conference Championship with a 2,283 in the air rifle competition to finish in fifth place on Sunday at Pat Spurgin Rifle Range.
The Eagles shot an aggregate score of 4,517, while champion Jacksonville State finished on top in the event with a 4,650.
Junior Ethan Cole was the lone honoree for MSU, as he earned Second-Team All-Conference honors in smallbore. Sophomore Emma Uchida led the Eagles and finished with a personal-best 578 in air rifle.
MSU finished with its lowest smallbore total of the season (2,234) and its second lowest air rifle mark (2,283)
The Eagles return to action on Feb. 15 at the Western Intercollegiate Rifle Conference Championship.
