Two More School Records Established for Track and Field

RALEIGH, N.C. --
The Morehead State track and field teams established two more school records and claimed wins in four race heats at the Raleigh Relays at North Carolina State this weekend.

Sophomore Jesse Moreno, who set the 3,000-meter school record in the season opener last weekend, established a school mark for the 5K Friday. He ran the race in 14:42.74, winning his heat and topping the previous school standard set by his former teammate Zachariah Elliott.

The men's 4x1,500-meter relay team finished third among 15 starting foursomes and set a school record with a time of 15:52.52.

The men's squad also saw sophomore Clay Dixon establish a personal best in the 400-meter event. He won his heat with a time of 50.93.

For the Eagle women, freshman Karina Manz claimed top honors in her 5K heat, clocking the track in 17:15. Sophomore Alex Morris also won her 5K heat, running the event in 18:05. Freshman Mackenzie Butler finished third in her heat at 18:21.

Morehead State's next meet is set for Friday and Saturday at the Bellarmine Invitational in Louisville.
