MOREHEAD, Ky. -- The Morehead State baseball team is set to host NAIA opponent Shawnee State for a mid-week tilt. The game date and time has been postponed to Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. ET due to inclement weather Tuesday.
The Bears (25-20) hail from Portsmouth, Ohio and compete in the Mid-South Conference. MSU (17-18) has knocked off one NAIA team, St. Catharine (Ky.), already this year.
Tickets are $5 for adults and $2 for children ages 2-12. Students are always free with their MSU ID. Parking is free.

Last year, after 35 games, the Eagles had just nine wins. This year, it's 17. The Eagle offense batted .297 so far this year. Last season, at this point, the team batting average was .265. MSU has 24 double-digit hit games and 12 double-digit scoring games this year. In 2013, those number were just 13 and five, respectively.
Giant KillersMorehead State was 2-2 last week, but both wins came at the expense of nationally-ranked opponents. MSU knocked off No. 12 Kentucky 6-4 last Tuesday in Lexington and then handed No. 23 Indiana an 8-7 setback Sunday. The last win over a nationally-ranked opponent prior to last week was in 2007.
Rawe PowerJunior right fielder
Brandon Rawe ranks second in the nation in hits with 63 and leads the Ohio Valley Conference in batting average at .423. Twenty of Rawe's hits have been for extra bases. He leads the Ohio Valley Conference with 15 doubles and ranks second in total bases with 93.
Bobby's Burning It UpPrior to the March 26 contest at Northern Kentucky, senior designated hitter Bobby Burns sported a .268 batting average. Since then, Burns has at least one hit in the last 11 games and has bumped his average to .349. He now ranks second on the team. In that span, Burns batted .422 (19-for-42).
Clutch WinsMorehead State is 8-1 this season in games decided by one run. The Eagles are also 11-0 when they hold a lead in the eighth inning or after.
Craig's ListSophomore pitcher
Craig Pearcy leads the team and ranks second in the conference with seven saves. He also leads the pitching staff with three wins. Pearcy, with a team-best 3.15 ERA, has only allowed 14 earned runs in 40 innings and has 39 strikeouts.
The New(ell) Kid in TownJunior left fielder
Nick Newell batted .625 (5-for-8) with two doubles and three RBI in the series at Indiana. The effort broke a 1-for-15 slump for Newell in the previous seven games.
Double the Success Away From HomeIn 2013, Morehead State posted just a 6-25 record in road games. This year, the Eagles already own 12 wins away from Allen Field with nine more true games on the schedule.
