Saint Louis Tops Volleyball in Purdue Tourney Finale

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. --
The Saint Louis volleyball team registered a .349 attack percentage, with 43 kills and just 13 errors, en route to a 25-15, 25-16, 25-9 victory over Morehead State on Saturday afternoon in the Purdue Active Ankle Challenge at Mackey Arena.

The Billikens, who have won nine of their last 10 matches, improve to 10-4 overall and 3-1 on a neutral floor.  The Eagles fall to 0-13 overall and 0-4 in neutral-court affairs.  SLU also moves to 2-0 in the all-time series, with wins over MSU each of the last two seasons.

Saint Louis posted advantages of 10-1 in aces, 37-13 in assists and 40-21 in digs.  The Billikens hit .207 in the opener, .321 in the middle stanza and .517 in the final set.  Morehead State was limited to .085 from an offensive standpoint, with just 16 winners and 10 miscues.

No Morehead State player reached double figures in kills, digs or assists.

Sophomore outside hitter Danielle Rygelski notched a 12 kills, while junior middle blocker Megan Gilbert added 11.  Junior setter Meredith Boe handed out 31 assists, while freshman outside hitter Nenye Okoro and junior middle blocker Anna Church had 10 digs each.

The Eagles open Ohio Valley Conference action next weekend in the Music City.  MSU will take Tennessee State on Friday at 7 p.m. ET and Belmont on Saturday at 3 p.m.
