Butler leads Women's Cross Country at OVC race

MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Senior Jorge Gil-Juarez finished 11th at the Ohio Valley Conference Championships in Murray Saturday and was tabbed Second-Team All-OVC. The Eagle men finished fifth among the 12 teams, while the women were sixth.

Gil-Juarez crossed the finish line in a time of 25:15.7. Evan Childers was next on the men's squad in 22nd place with a time of 26:00.00 for the 8K course. The women's team was paced by junior Mackenzie Butler in 18th place (18:19.5) on the 5K course. Freshman Kansas Greenwell was 21st at 18:27.2.

The men's team was also represented in the top 25 by freshman Justin Moakler, who took 24th with a time of 26:04.9. For the women, junior Hannah Bailey was 28th at 18:39.9.

The Eastern Kentucky men's and women's teams won their respective titles.

Both teams will wrap up their seasons on Nov. 13 at the NCAA Southeast Regional in Earlysville, Va.
