Track and Field Competes at Kentucky Relays

MOREHEAD, Ky. --
The Morehead State track and field teams competed at the Kentucky Relays Saturday. Sophomore Hannah Bailey and junior Evan Childers both turned in top-five efforts in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.

Bailey finished third on the jumps and water course with a time of 11:30.18, while Childers was fifth in the men's race at 9:33.90.

For the men, junior Jorge Gil-Juarez ran a personal-record time of 14:55.30 in the 5,000-meter run.

For the women, sophomore Mackenzie Butler was sixth in the one-mile run at 5:18.67. The women's squad was also represented Friday at the Jesse Owens Invitational at Ohio State by juniors Erica Parks and Alex Morris.

Both teams will have a final tune-up chance before the Ohio Valley Conference championhips in two weeks. The Eagles will compete Friday at the Louisville Cardinal Twilight.
