MOREHEAD, Ky. –
The Morehead State cross country teams will conclude their 2016 seasons on Friday at the NCAA Southeast Regionals in Earlysville, Va. The women's 6K race is set to begin at 11 a.m. ET with the men's 10K race following at noon at Panorama Farms.

"We are excited to run at the Southeast Regional Championships this Friday, it will be a great competition at a great venue," Head Coach Stephen Piccuci said. "Both teams are looking to end the season on a high note."

The Eagles will see tough competition from around the country this weekend with 37 men's teams and 39 women's teams competing.

The men's team will have 10 runners, including senior Jesse Moreno, juniors Dylan Rich and Hunter Trenary, sophomores Grayson Brookshire, Jordan Carrington, Jackson Cooper, Justin Moakler and Corey Tooke, and freshmen Farah Abdulkarim and Aaron Wier.

The Morehead State men finished 22nd in the event last season. Trenary (32:29.8) ran the eighth fastest 10K time in program history last year with a time of 32:29.8, and Moakler registered the 10th best time in the history of the program finishing in 33:00.7.

"We have a very tough region, but I know the athletes will give everything they have and leave it all out on the course," Piccuci added. "We will have to wait and see where we end up in the field."

Nine women will be competing for Morehead State, including seniors Hannah Bailey, Mackenzie Butler, Alex Morris and Erica Parks, sophomores Mya Faris and Kansas Greenwell, and freshmen Caitlin Cunningham, Amelia Sebok and Shelby Watkins.

The Eagle women finished 24th in last year's race. Butler led the women in the 6K with a time of 22:58.4. Bailey posted a time of 23:02.2 and Greenwell finished 23:17.5 rounding out the top three team finishers.

Results will be available on MSUEagles.com and VirginiaSports.com following completion of both races.
