MOREHEAD, Ky. – Morehead State Rifle picked up its third victory of the season after defeating North Georgia, Virginia Military Institute, and Wofford in a quad match at VMI Saturday. This marks the second time that the Eagles have defeated North Georgia and VMI on the season.
Morehead State won the match with an aggregate score of 4,604, winning air rifle outright with a score of 2,325, and tying North Georgia atop smallbore with a score of 2,279.
Sophomore
Brandon Bryer shot a category-leading 575 in smallbore to lead the Eagles. Freshman
Sarah Fink ranked second for the Eagles and fourth overall, shooting a 571.
In air rifle, sophomore Siarra Crum and freshman
Karly Potts led the Eagles, shooting a 584 each. The mark was good to tie Crum and Potts for second in the category. Junior
Joe Fischer also scored high, shooting a 580.
Morehead State rifle returns to the range at the Palmyra (Pa.) Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 28. The Eagles will face off against Akron, Navy, and Ole Miss in a quad match.
