Rifle wraps up season at NCAA Qualifier at Kentucky

MOREHEAD, Ky. -- The No. 18 Morehead State rifle team put the finishing touches on its 2015-16 campaign Saturday at an NCAA Qualifier match at Kentucky. MSU fired a 4,572 aggregate total, while the host UK Wildcats finished with a 4,681.

Sophomore Haley Wilson paced the Eagles in air rifle and smallbore, firing a 580 on the air gun and a 574 in smallbore. The season marked the second under Head Coach Alan Joseph.

Senior Russell Smith wrapped up his collegiate career with a 577 in air rifle and a 570 in smallbore. Sophomore Joe Fischer was next, scoring a 568 in smallbore, while freshman Siarra "CC" Crum turned in a 575 in air rifle.

Freshman Melanie West saved the best for last in her first collegiate year, totaling a season-best 562 in smallbore. Freshman Brandon Bryer tied his career-best total in air, shooting a 575.
