LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. – Battling impending weather, women's golf finished the fall portion of their schedule on Monday. Morehead State concluded the 40th annual FIU Pat Bradley Invitational tied for 13th.
"The Pat Bradley is a first-class event and hosted the toughest field we have faced this fall," said head coach
Stephanie Barker.
Saving their best for last, the Eagles wrapped the fall on a high note, posting scores of 311-315-301-927. The 54-hole total was the lowest by Morehead State this season, while the Eagles final-round 301 also represented a season-low.
"We are excited to have posted our best team round so far this season and look forward to competing again in the spring," added Barker.
Sophomore
Gypsie Hutchinson led the Eagles, carding scores of 75-76-77-228 to finish tied for 32nd. Junior Ana Dieguez finished tied for 48th, fashioning scores of 76-83-73-232. Freshman
Barbara Roether posted scores of 85-74-74-233, finishing tied for 52nd.
Seniors
Sarah Debnekoff (77-82-77-236) and
Ebba Gustafsson (83-89-77-249) rounded out the Eagle five-some, finishing tied for 63rd and tied for 76th, respectively.
In addition to the setting a pair of team season-lows, the Eagles set numerous individual season-lows. Dieguez followed up her performance at the WCU Bill Berg Invitational, setting season-low totals for 18 holes (73) and 54 holes (232) for the second consecutive event. Debnekoff shot her lowest 54-hole total (236) of the season, while Gustafsson shot her lowest 18-hole total (77) of the season.
The Eagles open the spring portion of their schedule at the Amelia Island Collegiate Invitational on February 19-20. The Event will be held at Amelia National Golf and Country Club in Amelia Island, Fla.
