Men's Hoops Falls at No. 17 Xavier in Season Opener

CINCINNATI, Ohio –
No. 17 Xavier hit its first five three-pointers and raced out to a 15-1 lead as the Morehead State men's basketball team opened the 2017-18 season with a 101-49 setback at the Cintas Center.
 
The Musketeers shot 76 percent in the first half (22-of-29) and 11-of-14 from three-point range in taking a 62-24 lead into the locker room.
 
Sophomore guard Jordan Walker led the Eagles with 18 points, hitting three triples. Freshman Malek Green, who played high school ball in Cincinnati, tallied seven points, four rebounds and two blocked shots. The Eagles offense was limited to 24 percent from the floor.
 
Travon Bluitt paced the hosts with 25 points, including 21 in the first half.
 
Morehead State continues the season on Sunday with a 5 p.m. ET contest at Lipscomb.
