BATAVIA, Ohio – Sophomore Gypsie Hutchinson battled mother nature to shoot a final round 73 as she was named to the all-tournament team at the NKU Fall Classic. Hutchinson finished second overall, carding scores of 78-72-73-223 over the two-day event.

"Gypsie played very solid this week and handled the challenges of this course quite well," said head coach Stephanie Barker. "She is intentional about her mindset and really stayed in the moment. It's fantastic to see her work on and off the course paying off."

As a team, the Eagles finished fifth of 14 teams competing, making up a 15-stroke deficit on play's final day. Morehead State shot 95-over at 321-313-313-947.

Barker added, "I'm proud of everyone for giving their best and staying tough today, regardless. We reset our goal last night after a tough first day and knew we could move up into the top-five or better if we played steady."

Senior Sarah Debnekoff finished tied for 21st overall, shooting 74-83-78-235. Freshman Barbara Roether tied for 34th with a score of 83-77-80-240. Freshman Jessie Eaton (89-85-82-256) tied for 64th, and junior Ana Diguez (86-81-90-257) finished 66th.

"I'm proud of this team for fighting hard and we are all excited to notch a top-five finish. We have lots of positives to build on this season," added Barker.

Morehead State returns to action Sunday, Sept. 24 when they tee-off at the Chris Banister Classic in Gadsden, Ala.
