MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Dwight Rutledge, who most recently served as a compliance coordinator at West Florida, has been appointed as Morehead State Athletics' Director of Compliance.
He was at West Florida during the spring semester of 2017.
Prior to West Florida, Rutledge was at fellow Ohio Valley Conference school Eastern Illinois, where he worked as a graduate assistant for compliance and earned a master's degree in public administration.
Rutledge was solely responsible for all compliance areas for a time at EIU, and he represented EIU at the OVC Compliance Administrators meeting. He worked with handling all high school transcript evaluations and transfer tracers, releases and permission to contact forms.

He has also worked as an intern in the compliance office at Northern Illinois, while spending time as a manager for the Huskies' men's basketball team and graduating with a bachelor's degree in political science in 2014. Before his time at NIU,
Rutledge attended Parkland College, graduated with an A.A., and was a student worker in the athletic department.

In addition to his work in intercollegiate athletics,
Rutledge has worked with Special Olympics Illinois at the Region 9 2016 Spring Meet and in the Assessment Center at Parkland College. At PC, he worked as an Assessment Center assistant and a proctor for high-stakes tests.
Rutledge married his wife Ashleigh (Lopez)Â on September 16, 2017. The couple resides with their two dogs, Lola and Harper, in Morehead.
