Women's basketball spends Day of Service at Community Soup Kitchen
MOREHEAD, Ky. – Not one player on the Morehead State women's basketball roster has scored a basket in the 2017-18 season, yet the entire team is already learning the meaning of the word assist.

The Eagles spent last Wednesday at the Community Soup Kitchen, where they helped serve the Rowan County community for the Women's Basketball Coaches Association Day of Service.

"It's something we love to be able to give back," said MSU head coach Greg Todd. "It's good to be involved in the community, which is a big part of being an athlete here at Morehead State."

Throughout the day, each member of the team and coaching staff made their way to the soup kitchen to help prepare the facility for a typical day of serving food to individuals in need. The Eagles assisted in cooking, cleaning, and getting the food onto the plates of hundreds of hungry people.

Like all the athletic teams at Morehead State, the women's basketball program takes part in several community service events during the academic school year. The Eagles' next adventure will come at a 5K walk for charity on Saturday, in support of the National Alliance of Mental Illness.
