MOREHEAD, Ky. – Coming off its first overtime contest of the 2017-18 season, Morehead State women's basketball (13-6, 4-2 Ohio Valley Conference) returns home for a rematch with Jacksonville State (11-6, 5-1 OVC) on Thursday at 4 p.m. ET.

The Eagles and Gamecocks first clashed on Dec. 30, with Jacksonville State edging Morehead State 70-64 at Pete Mathews Coliseum. The Eagles are hoping to match last season's home-and-home result in the series, as both claimed victories in front of their home crowds. 

Morehead State won both of its road tilts on last week's schedule, capped off with an 81-76 win in overtime at UT Martin. Junior center Tierra McGowan logged 17 points and 20 rebounds versus the Skyhawks, earning OVC Newcomer of the Week honors for the sixth time this season.

GAME NOTES

RUN IT BACK
Morehead State came up short in a 70-64 contest at Jacksonville State on Dec. 30. The teams split last season's two-game series, with each home team emerging victorious.

SINGLE-DIGIT SCORERS
Jacksonville State enters Thursday without a single player on its roster averaging a double-digit scoring output. Each of the Eagles' five regular starters average more than 10 points per game.

NO NEW NEWCOMERS
Tierra McGowan was named the Ohio Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week for the sixth time this season on Jan. 16.

BONUS BASKETBALL
Morehead State competed in its first overtime contest of the season last Saturday at UT Martin, coming away with an 81-76 victory.

20-PIECE TO-GO
McGowan pulled down 20 rebounds in last Saturday's win, matching a feat she accomplished in a 120-41 win over Brescia (Ky.) on Nov. 15.

S.W.A.T.
Brooke Todd blocked six shots in last Saturday's win, matching a feat she accomplished in a 74-67 win at Tennessee Tech on Dec. 28.
