MOREHEAD, Ky. -- The Morehead State rifle team fell just short against Akron Saturday in its return from winter break.

The Zips topped the Eagles 4649-4632. It halted the Eagles' four-match winning streak.

Sophomore Karly Potts topped all shooters in air rifle with a 592, while Jesse Moyer carded a 588 to set a personal best. Moyer also established a career-best in aggregate score with an 1162 (574 in smallbore). Siarra Crum also fired a solid 586 in air today.

In smallbore, junior Brandon Bryer led the way with a 576. Seth Baker, Dan Hall, Ryan Hinson and Joe Fischer all equaled or bested the 570-mark. Karly Potts tied her personal record in prone at 196.

The Eagles will continue their 2017-18 ledger Sunday versus Murray State in Lexington, Ky.
