MOREHEAD, Ky. – Morehead State Athletics is set to participate in the Morehead Community Soup Kitchen's Community Can Food Competition on Thursday, Feb. 1 at Johnson Arena.
The men's and women's basketball teams will be competing in a doubleheader versus Tennessee State, starting when head coach
Greg Todd's group tips off with the Lady Tigers at 5:15 p.m. ET. MSU fans will receive $1 off the price of admission for every canned food item donated, up to $5. Access includes entry to the men's contest with TSU at 7:30 p.m.
The Morehead Community Soup Kitchen recommends corn, green beans, baked beans, carrots, peas, and fruit as items of most importance in its mission to combat food scarcity and hunger in the Morehead region. Donations other than canned food items will be readily accepted, but will not count toward the Community Can Food Competition.
