MOREHEAD, Ky. – The Morehead State women's basketball team had five players score in double figures as they defeated Chicago State 104-68 in the Vinewood Farm Classic on Saturday evening at Johnson Arena.
Senior guard
Darianne Seward led the Eagles' quintuplet of double-digit scorers with 25 points. The Columbus, Ohio, native also dished out nine assists while just turning the ball over once.

Miranda Crockett (19), graduate forward Mckenzie Calvert (17), junior guard
Breuna Jackson (15), and junior forward
Jaleesa Avery (11).
"Offensively I felt like we played with good pace and made good decisions with the basketball," said head coach
Greg Todd.
Morehead State hit on 37-of-80 (.463) shots from the field and picked up 20 points on fast break opportunities.
Defensively, Morehead State forced 25 turnovers and scored 27 points off of those Chicago State miscues. The Cougars were held to a 23-of-62 (.371) performance shooting.
The win improves the Eagles to 4-0 in 2018-19. The last time Morehead State won four-consecutive games since the 1995-96 season.
The 104 points scored by the Eagles is the most against a Division I opponent since the 2015-16 squad defeated Alabama A&M by a final count of 112-69 on December 21, 2015.
Chicago State, who was led by Tyeshia Bowers with a gritty 25 points, falls to 0-4 with the defeat.
Morehead State returns to the hardwood on Sunday for the final game of the Vinewood Farm Classic as they play host to St. Francis Brooklyn at 4:05 p.m. ET. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+ and can be heard on 96.3 WIVY.
