Rifle Sets a Pair of School Standards in Win Versus Army

MOREHEAD, Ky. --
The Morehead State rifle team remained unbeaten in dual matches Friday, topping Army 4,654-4,637 at Button Rifle Range. In the process, a team school record and an individual school standard were set.

MSU is now 4-0 this season in head-to-head matches. The team set the school record for smallbore prone with a 796. In addition, senior Brandon Bryer tied the school mark for prone with a 200 with 18 center shots.

Bryer also set a personal best with a 589 air rifle total and tied his career-high in combined score with an 1166 (589 AR, 577 SB).

Freshman Erin Diehl had a career day as well with a personal-best 581 in smallbore, which included personal records of 195 in kneeling and 192 in standing. That amounted to a personal-best 1164 total (581 SB, 583 AR).

Fellow freshman Katie Frye had a prone personal-best 200 with 13 center shots. She tied her combined career-best with an 1161. Freshman Amber Schifano rounded out the personal-best days with a high-score of 584 in air for her. She also set personal bests for total smallbore (566) and kneeling (192) as well as combined (1150).

In air rifle, junior Karly Potts had a 587, while senior Siarra Crum turned in a 584.

Morehead State turns right around to host Georgia Southern Saturday.
