Jeune honored as collegesportsmadness.com's OVC Player of the Week
MOREHEAD, Ky. –For the second time during the 2018-19 campaign, Morehead State women's basketball guard Aliyah Jeune has been tabbed as the collegesportsmadness.com Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week.

The 6-foot-1 junior came off the bench and led all scorers with 22 points in 21 minutes played as the Eagles picked up the 79-44 win over Lipscomb on Saturday.

Jeune finished 6-of-8 from the field but was deadly from deep, hitting on 5-of-6 shots from behind the arc. Jeune was also responsible for three assists, three rebounds, and one steal as her team improved to 9-4 overall.

"Aliyah continues to be a big factor for our team," said Morehead State head coach Greg Todd. "She not only gives us a lot of offense but is continuing to improve on the defensive end as well. Our staff is excited to watch her continue to improve her game as we move into conference play."

Jeune, who is yet to make a start this season, is tied with senior guard Miranda Crockett for the team's scoring lead with 18.8 points per game. The Westhampton, N.J., native is also attributing 4.8 rebounds and 2.9 assists per contest.

The guard was also named as the website's OVC Player of the Week following her back-to-back 28 point outing during the opening weekend of the season.

Morehead State and Jeune return to action on Thursday evening as they open OVC play at Murray State. The Eagles and Racers are scheduled to tipoff at 6:00 p.m. ET at the CFSB Center.
