Beach Volleyball Captures Flight Victories, But Drops Pair of Matches Friday
RESULTS: (WEBBER INTERNATIONAL) (ECKERD)

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. –
Morehead State (0-3) beach volleyball picked up its first two flight victories of the season on Friday. The Eagles picked up the victories in a 3-2 setback versus Webber International. Morehead State dropped its second match of the day, falling 5-0 to host Eckerd College.

WEBBER INTERNATIONAL 3, MOREHEAD STATE 2
The tandems of junior Jordan Jones and freshman Lauren Rokey and redshirt sophomore Danielle McCarson and junior Maddie Fella captured flight victories from the fourth and fifth flights, respectively versus Webber International. Jones and Rokey captured their victory in straight sets, while McCarson and Fella secured their victory in three sets.

The Eagles' top three flights did not fare as well for Morehead State versus Webber International. In the top flight redshirt junior Jessie Wachtman and sophomore Liz Allen dropped their match in straight sets. Morehead State's second pairing of sophomore Chandler Clark and freshman Olivia Lohmeier fell in straight sets, with junior Alyssa Cecil and sophomore Karlee Reynolds falling in straight sets as the Eagles' third tandem.

ECKERD 5, MOREHEAD STATE 0
Morehead State completed day one of the Battle on the Bay falling to host Eckerd. The Eagles were unable to build upon the momentum from capturing two sets in their first match of the day, finishing the day dropping both contests.

The top two flight pairings remained the same for head coach Jaime Gordon, with Wachtman and Allen dropping their matchup from the primary pairing in two sets. The Eagles' secondary tandem of Clark and Lohmeier dropping its match in straight sets.

The Eagles featured a new combination in flight three for their second match as redshirt junior Jess Hall paired with Reynolds. The tandem dropped their matchup in straight sets.

The Eagles' final two tandems remained the same, as Rokey and Jones and McCarson and Fella each dropped their flights. Each pairing finished in straight sets.

Morehead State returns to action on day two of the Eckerd College Battle on the Bay Saturday versus Florida Southern and Tampa. Match times are set for 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. ET.
