MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. –
Morehead State women's golf wrapped up its season Wednesday, placing fifth at the 2018 Ohio Valley Conference Championships. The Eagles posted scores of 316-314-311-941 over the three-day event.

Sophomore Gypsie Hutchinson and senior Sarah Debnekoff each marked a top-20 finish for the Eagles, the first time the Eagles have had multiple golfers in the top-20 since placing three in the top-20 during the 2016 OVC Championships.

The Eagles' fifth place finish is the highest since finishing fourth at the OVC Championships in 2016. Morehead State's second round 311 also marked the lowest round for the Eagles since posting a 302 in last year's OVC Championships' opening round.

Hutchinson, in her second career OVC Championships, fashioned scores of 79-75-77-231 to finish ninth. Her second round 75 marked the lowest round of the event for the Eagles, while also being the lowest of her six rounds at the OVC Championships in her career.

Senior Sarah Debnekoff finished tied for 17th in her second career OVC Championships, turning in scores of 79-80-76-235. Making her third career OVC Championships appearance, senior Ebba Gustafsson marked down scores of 79-86-79-244 finishing tied for 32nd.

In her second OVC Championships, junior Ana Dieguez wrote in scores of 79-80-86-245 finishing 34th. Rounding out things for Morehead State, freshman Barbara Roether in her first OVC Championships finished 36th, posting scores of 90-79-79-248.

The Eagles finish the 2017-18 season with six top-five finishes in eleven events, the most since they placed in the top-five in six events during the 2015-16.
