Beach Volleyball Claims Third Victory of the Season in Split at the Ohio Valley Challenge
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – For its third consecutive day of play across two tournaments, Morehead State beach volleyball picked up a win. The Eagles (3-10) split its two matches at the Ohio Valley Challenge, dropping to host Austin Peay 4-1 before defeating Carson-Newman 3-2.

AUSTIN PEAY 4, MOREHEAD STATE 1
In a rematch of a dual match held earlier in the season at Fazoli's Breadstick Beach, Morehead State took another shot at traditional Ohio Valley Conference rival Austin Peay. The pairing of freshman Olivia Lohmeier and sophomore Chandler Clark captured the Eagles' lone flight victory out of the secondary position.

The primary tandem of redshirt junior Jessie Wachtman and sophomore Liz Allen dropped in straight flights, forcing extra points in the second set. In the third slot, junior Alyssa Cecil and sophomore Karlee Reynolds fell in straight sets.

In their third match from the number four flight, junior Maddie Fella and redshirt sophomore Danielle McCarson captured the first set before falling in the next two, dropping the flight in three sets. Rounding things out for the Eagles, redshirt junior Jess Hall and junior Jordan Jones fell in straight sets.

MOREHEAD STATE 3, CARSON-NEWMAN 2
In Friday's nightcap, the Eagles picked up their third victory of the season, claiming three sets from Carson-Newman. Morehead State's secondary pairing of Lohmeier and Clark claimed a flight victory for a second straight match, the first time the pairing has accomplished the feat.

The fourth pairing of Fella and McCarson captured a three set victory in their flight, giving the pairing their sixth flight victory of the season. The victory extends the tandems single-season record flight victory total.

Hall and Jones also claimed victory as the tandem won in three sets. Wachtman and Allen and Cecil and Reynolds each dropped in three sets.

The Eagles wrap up the Ohio Valley Challenge tomorrow, facing Spring Hill College (Ala.) and Lincoln Memorial (Tenn.). Match times are set for 11 a.m. ET and 2:30 p.m.
