Wilkins heads to Columbus Regional for NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championships
MOREHEAD, Ky. – After locking up an automatic berth with a 3-hole playoff victory at the Ohio Valley Conference Men's Golf Championship last week, Morehead State junior Nick Wilkins is heading to Columbus, Ohio for the 2018 NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championships.

"Nick is excited to be staying close to home and going to a quality golf course," said head coach Matthew Martin. "He can grind out pars with the best of them, and that's what it's going to take up there."

Wilkins is one of 10 individuals competing at The Ohio State University Golf Club's Scarlet course, joining Kyle Mueller (Michigan), Matthew Naumec (Boston College), Alex Schaake (Iowa), Patrick Flavin (Miami [Ohio]), David Kocher (Maryland), Daniel Wetterich (Ohio State), Peter Knade (Maryland), Jacob Poore (Northern Kentucky), and Zach Schroeder (Fort Wayne).

Each of the tournament's six 54-hole regional tournaments will take place May 14-16. Oklahoma State, Illinois, Texas Tech, UNLV, Wake Forest, Northwestern, Penn State, Tennessee, Louisville, Jacksonville, Michigan State, Yale, and Cleveland State comprise the Columbus Regional's 13-team field, while only the low five performers, as well as just one of the 10 individual competitors, will advance to the finals.
