Former Eagle Star DeJuan Marrero Earns Four Major Swiss NLB Awards
MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Former Morehead State men's basketball standout DeJuan Marrero has made quite a name for himself playing in Switzerland. So much so that he has earned four major postseason accolades from Eurobasket.com.

Marrero, who plays for Pully-Lausanne Basket LNB basketball club in Pully, Switzerland, was named Player of the Year, Forward of the Year and Import Player of the Year in the Swiss National League by Eurobasket.com. He was also named to the league's first-team.

As a senior at Morehead State in 2016-17, "Rico" was named Second-Team All-OVC. Marrero averaged 12 points and nearly nine rebounds per contest, the latter of which ranked fourth highest in the Ohio Valley Conference. He also ranked second in the league in offensive rebounds per game (3.0) and sixth in defensive rebounds per game (5.4).

In 2015-16, he was a key figure in helping the Eagles advance all the way to the finals of the College Basketball Invitational.
