Georgia Childers Transfers to MSU for Beach Volleyball
MOREHEAD, Ky. – While Morehead State beach volleyball may have recently wrapped up its second season of play, the program welcomes graduate transfer Georgia Childers to the program for the 2019 season. She will compete in beach-only competition for Morehead State.

Childers joins the Morehead State beach volleyball program after competing for four seasons in indoor volleyball at Northern Kentucky. At NKU, she moved around the floor, playing multiple positions for the Norse. Childers spent most of her time on the court as a middle blocker, while also seeing time as a right-side hitter and defensive specialist.

At NKU, Childers appeared in 68 matches, making 46 starts for the Norse. In 218 sets, she accumulated 292.5 career points, notching 191 kills and 114 total blocks. Childers also added 144 career digs and 40 service aces.

An Atlantic Sun All-Academic team member, Childers graduated from Northern Kentucky with a Bachelor of Science degree in athletic training. At Morehead State, she intends to pursue a master's degree in Wellness Promotions.

A 2014 graduate of Holy Cross High School, the Independence, Ky., native was named the Northern Kentucky Girls Volleyball Coaches Association Division II Player of the Year as a senior after leading her team in kills and blocks. Childers also led Holy Cross to three appearances in the KHSAA 9th Region Tournament. As a club player, she played with Team Z, the No. 30 ranked club in the nation in 2014.

Childers joins incoming freshmen Hannah Mabrey (Acworth, Ga.) and Margaret Musselman (Pataskala, Ohio) as the Eagles' beach volleyball only players for the 2019 season. The trio is joined by Hannah Keating (Liberty Township, Ohio) in Morehead State's 2019 beach volleyball signing class
