MOREHEAD, Ky.
– Morehead State women's basketball has released its 2018-19 schedule, which is highlighted by non-conference road matchups against NCAA Tournament teams North Carolina A&T and Baylor while also featuring a pair of four-game homestands in Ohio Valley Conference play.

All of Morehead State's 2018-19 home events will be stream live on ESPN . Tip-off times and additional broadcast information will be announced at a later date. Fans can purchase season tickets to all 17 home contests and see the schedule in its entirety by visiting MSUEagles.com or clicking the links found at the top of the story.

After facing Shawnee State in an exhibition on October 29, the Eagles will kick off the season on November 9 against the 2018 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference champion North Carolina A&T Aggies. Morehead State will also travel to Waco, Texas for a meeting with the two-time National Champions and 2018 Big-12 Conference Champion Baylor Bears on December 12. The Eagles will make a trip to Lexington for a matchup with Southeastern Conference member Kentucky on Nov. 28.

The matchup with the Aggies is the first of a two-game road trip as the team looks to avenge a 68-60 home defeat from 2017 with a date in Boiling Springs against Gardner-Webb on Nov. 11. The trip to Baylor is the lid-lifting game of a three-game stand on the road with other matchups at Radford on Dec. 15 and at Saint Francis on Dec. 19.

"We feel like our non-conference away schedule is very brutal," said head coach Greg Todd. "Our staff wanted to challenge this team, and we upgraded our schedule and this is probably the toughest away schedule we have had in my five years here."

Within the friendly confines of Johnson Arena, the Eagles will host a five-day invitational event that will see the team play four games in that span. The invitational event, that has yet to be named, welcomes Valparaiso (Nov. 16), Chicago State (Nov. 17), St. Francis Brooklyn (Nov. 18), and Alice Lloyd (Ky.) (Nov. 20) to Johnson Arena.

The Eagles will host their annual Education Day game, which brings thousands of elementary and middle school children from the region to Johnson Arena, against Alice Lloyd on Nov. 20.

"The Education Day game is always a fun experience, and the girls get excited playing in front of the big crowd and the energy and excitement of the students," said Todd.

Morehead State will also take on Evansville (Dec. 2) and Lipscomb (Dec. 29), two teams the Eagles defeated on the road during the 2017-18 campaign.

The Eagles' OVC schedule bolsters a pair of four-game homestands, highlighted by Saturday matchups in January and February against four of the conference top teams from a season ago. UT Martin (Jan. 19), Jacksonville State (Jan. 26), Belmont (Feb. 9), and Eastern Kentucky (Feb. 16) will all play in Johnson Arena as part of the homestands.

"The OVC offers great balance yet again," said Todd. "Belmont has been very strong in past seasons, but UT Martin and Jacksonville State have solid returning teams as does much of the league."

Todd's program has won 42 games over the previous two seasons, which ranks as second most among OVC schools behind Belmont's 58 wins.

The Eagles will begin and end conference play against Murray State, traveling to their in-state rival on Jan. 3 and then hosting the Racers on Feb. 28.

The Ohio Valley Conference Tournament will be played for the second consecutive season at the Ford Center in Evansville, Ind. and will take place between March 6-9.
