NASHVILLE, Tenn. --
Despite a loss Thursday, Morehead State men's basketball can still sing a sweet song in the Music City if the Eagles can tackle the challenge at Tennessee State Saturday. Game time is set for 8:30 p.m. ET following the women's contest.

The game will air live on WIVY-96.3 FM and on ESPN+.

The Eagles (4-12/0-3 OVC) will face a Tennessee State (4-11/1-2 OVC) squad ranked only right above it in the standings. TSU knocked off Eastern Kentucky by a single point Thursday night at home.

GAME NOTES

THE SERIES WITH THE TIGERS
Morehead State holds a 37-33 advantage in the series with Tennessee State. The Tigers were able to sweep the season series last year. The last win for the Eagles at Tennessee State was in 2014-15.
LAST YEAR AGAINST BELMONT
HOME GAME - Lamontray Harris led the Eagles in scoring with 13 points and pulled down a game-high nine rebounds. Morehead State did force 18 TSU turnovers and led 14-6 on points via turnovers but ultimately fell 61-58. The two teams went back-and-forth before Tennessee State grabbed the lead for good (56-54) with 1:03 remaining. ROAD GAME - Djimon Henson knocked down a career-best six three-pointers at Tennessee State. Unfortunately it came in a setback to the Tigers as the Eagles fell 83-74 at the Gentry Center. A.J. Hicks dropped in 18 points and had seven assists, one short of his season-best.
TRENDS AND TIDBITS
Morehead State forced Belmont into a season-high 20 turnovers Thursday night ... The road has been unkind to the Eagles the last two seasons where MSU has only won once in 25 games ... De'von Cooper has scored 10 points in two of the last three games and averaged 8.6 points in that three-game span ... The Eagles' 78 percent (18-of-23) free throw accuracy at Belmont was the best since hitting 85 percent versus Green Bay on Nov. 17.
3-POINT STREAK LIVES ON
Morehead State has hit at least one three-pointer in 388 consecutive games, dating back to 2007 when the Eagles were held without a made one from beyond the arc against Jacksonville State.

DOUBLE-DOUBLE TOIL AND TROUBLE
Lamontray Harris collected his sixth double-double of the season at Missouri and now has 14 of the stat variety in his four-year career. Harris ranks fourth among the league players with 8.3 rebounds per game.
COMING UP ON 900
Lamontray Harris has a legitimate chance to reach 1,000 career points if he can keep up his average this season. He has piled up 896 career points. With a minimum of 15 games remaining (more if the Eagles play in the OVC Tournament and beyond), he would only need to average 6.9 points to reach that milestone. Harris would be the 33rd member of the 1,000 career point club in program history.
COUNT ON HIM
A.J. Hicks has dished out at least one assist in all 45 games of his two-year career. This season he ranks third in the OVC with 85 total helpers and has nine games with at least five assists.
COOPER IS SUPER
Sophomore guard De'Von Cooper has reach double figures in two of the last three games. He connected on a season-best four free throws as well at Belmont.
AIR JORDAN
Jordan Walker is one of only a handful of OVC players to produce at least six games scoring 20 or more points. He is still also only one of six OVC players to average more than 15 points per game as well.
FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE
Freshman forward Sasha Sukhanov is the first Russian-born player to suit up for the Eagle program. By way of Teays Valley (W.Va.) Christian School, Sukhanov scored a season-high six points against Kentucky Christian. Sukhanov also nabbed a career-best three steals at Belmont.
