MOREHEAD, Ky. -- One of the top returning point producers in the league, Morehead State senior guard
Jordan Walker has been tabbed to the Preseason All-OVC Team.
Walker, an Indianapolis, Ind., native, averaged 15.8 points and 2.6 assists in 2018-19 and is the league's second-ranked returning point scorer.
Morehead State's men were picked by the league's coaches and media relations' personnel for an eighth place finish.
Walker, who led the team with 72 three-pointers made, is already a member of the MSU 1,000-career point club. he heads into his final collegiate foray with 1,084 career markers. Walker eclipsed the 20-point plateau a team-best 12 times as a junior in helping lead the Eagles to a fifth place showing in the circuit. That ranked as the nation's best conference standings jump from the previous season when the Eagles tied for 11th.
One of Walker's breakout games came in a victory at Eastern Illinois on Feb. 1 last year when he poured in a career-best 30 points.
He owns 53 career double-figure scoring efforts, including 17 20+ performances. Walker is also one of the top free throw shooters in program history, hitting 79 percent last winter.
Morehead State embarks upon the 2019-20 season on Oct. 29 when Kentucky Christian visits for an exhibition matchup at 7 p.m. ET. The regular season commences Nov. 5 at home at 7 p.m. against Samford.
