SCHEDULE

MOREHEAD, Ky. --
When new Morehead State baseball coach Mik Aoki's program embarks on its 2020 schedule this spring, 26 home games will highlight the slate as well as games against Michigan State, Louisville, Tennessee, Kentucky and Ohio State.

Morehead State posted a school-record 26 home victories in 2019, ranking in the top five nationally in home winning percentage at 26-2.

"Our staff and players are excited to get the season going," said Aoki. "This schedule will pose some very quality challenges, especially with seven games against Power 5 Conference teams. We are excited to see what the OVC has in store this year as we work hard to continue the recent success this program has enjoyed."

Aoki, who takes over for the Eagles after a nine-year stint at Notre Dame, will see his team open the 2020 schedule with a three-game set against Big 10 foe Michigan State at Shipyard Park near Charleston, S.C., on Feb. 14-16.

The Eagles will face road tests at those Power 5 foes Louisville (ACC - March 3), Kentucky (SEC - March 24), Ohio State (Big 10 - April 7) and Tennessee (SEC - April 21). The Eagles also host Big East opponent Butler (March 17).

The home opening weekend will pit the Eagles against Missouri Valley Conference foe Southern Illinois (Feb. 28-March 1). Last year the teams played a three-game set at SIU.

Other non-conference home battles are against Dayton from the Atlantic 10 (March 10), MAC opponent Ohio (April 1), Horizon League foe Northern Kentucky (March 25) and Conference USA and regional rival Marshall (April 14). The Eagles will do home-and-home two-game series against Dayton, Marshall, Ohio and NKU. The first non-conference road test will be a three-game set at Norfolk State of the MEAC (Feb. 21-23).

The Ohio Valley Conference 30-game slate will feature home series with Belmont (March 6-8), UT Martin (March 27-29), Austin Peay (April 9-11), last year's tournament winner Jacksonville State (April 24-26) and Tennessee Tech (May 8-10).

The Eagles will face road conference tilts at Eastern Kentucky (March 13-15), SIUE (April 3-5), Eastern Illinois (April 17-19), Murray State (May 1-3) and Southeast Missouri (May 14-16).

The OVC Tournament will be held at Rent One Ballpark in Marion, Ill., again this year and is set for May 19-24.
